I'm putting in a resilient, low-maintenance food forest on 12 acres in Tassie, built for Australia's subtropical climate. A basic colour-change home testing kit (AUD $25–$40 from any rural supply or Bunnings) works reliably enough if you scrape away the leaf litter, sample from four spots across the site, and mix them in a clean bucket.
